At 2:30 p.m.on April 28th, our School held a conference on choosing majors for undergraduates of Class 2021 in Tianshan Hall A201.Jia Haiyan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, Xiao Han, Head of Political Science Department, Mi Pengju, Vice Head of Political Science Department, Li Yibin, Head of International Politics Department, Jin Xiaozhe, Vice Head of International Politics Department, Li Ze, teacher representative and Wang Wanjun, teaching secretary attended the conference.

At the beginning of the meeting, Ms. Wang Wanjun firstly introduced the work plan of political science undergraduate major diversion for the 2021 class of our school. After that, a.p. Xiao Han and a.p. Li Yibin made a detailed analysis on the differences of majors, employment prospect and research focus to further distinguish the differences between the two majors. In the Q&A part, students raised doubts about the differences in exams, the difficulty of coursework, and the curriculum. In terms of the civil service examination, the teacher believed that, excluding the highly specialized positions, the rest basically put the two majors under political science, so the subjects and contents of the examination are the same. As for the curriculum, Ms. Wang Wanjun mentioned that the corresponding training program will be announced soon, and suggested students to plan ahead with reference to the program of the past years. After the Q&A session, the two deputy class teachers also shared their knowledge and opinions about the majors. They believed that the difference between International Politics and Politics and Administration is that the former is more professional while the latter is more practical, and advised students to choose according to their interests.

This conference well answered students' doubts about their majors and deepened their knowledge and understanding of different professional directions. It also helped the students to raise their academic career planning better.
