On May 18, thethesisdefense meeting for the 2022 undergraduate students of the School of Politics and International Relations was carried out in an orderly manner by combining online and offline. Associate Professor Chen Yiyi, Li Yibin and Xiao Han, and Dr. Luo Yixuan, Sang Pu and Zhang Yuyan served as judges for this defence. Some students from other years of our school audited the defence.

The defence was divided into two groups, Political Science and Administration and International Politics, with 22 graduates participating in the defence. Each student presented his or her topic in terms of background, research significance, research methodology and theoretical framework, and the judges made comments and asked questions in response to the students' defence.

Students chose a wide range of topics for their theses, focusing on topics at the forefront of their disciplines. The Political Science and Administration group covered topics such as fertility policy research, the economy of casual labour and the third distribution; the International Politics group covered topics such as space strategy, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, counter-extremism and a study of border infrastructure development and international conflict.

After the defence, the judging panel said that the students had written theirthesises in a standard way, with a serious attitude and a wide range of topics, and most of them had met the basic requirements of the thesis. At the same time, it was suggested that the students should carefully revise and improve their thesis according to the comments given by the judges and the requirements of the supervisors, and do a good job in the final work. Finally, the teachers expressed their heartfelt wishes to the students and took a group photo with them.
